How much does Chara cost?
How do I get paid from appointments?
To get paid for your sessions, you must connect with Stripe, our secure third party transaction agent. To do this, you must be logged in, navigate to the Profile tab labeled 'Me' and select 'Payments'. From there, select the button ‘Connect with Stripe’. As long as you have your account properly connected to Stripe, you will receive the payment for your booking within 24-48 hours.
How does it work?
Chara exists to help you connect with new clients and grow your practice. To begin, download our app and sign-up for an account. From there, you will be asked questions to help build out your provider profile. After completion, your profile will be listed in our client-facing directory. We guide our clients to you via a combination of behavioral science and data analysis to ensure a perfect match.

How do I create the best Chara profile to stand out?
The providers who book the most appoinments have answered all profile questions and built our their profiles completely. Here are some guiding tips:
Bio: Write a personal bio, drawing on your experience as a healer. Keep it short, but exhasutive of your approach, experience and training.
Experience: Include both your total years of experience, but also job history (private practice, clinics, etc)
Education: Note where you studied, whether at University or elsewhere
Photo: Include a photo that represents you and your best self. Try to use a professional headshot if you have one, but if not use a photo with a blank, neutral background.
Is my information secure on Chara?

Yes! With Chara events, you can create & host in-person and digital events & workshops all through our app. Have a weekly meditation you lead or want to teach a class on creating herbal tinctures? List it on Chara!
What is Chara?
By combining new age technology with ancient health wisdom, we are making it easy to connect with reputable health & wellness providers. We are a community of healers: doulas, acupuncturists, personal trainers, herbalists and so much more. With our easy to use app, you can book appointments and attend events with a wide ranging group of providers. Our goal is to make wellness simpler. We believe the wellness industry is too exclusive and we are hoping to use our platform to bring more transparent and accessible care to all. As a provider, we aim to bring you new clients and help you manage your sessions and schedules more easily. Let us handle the marketing & business side - you should spend more of your time on the thing you love – working with clients!
Can I choose more than one modality?
Yes - however, choose your main specialty and then use "sub-specialties" to list any additional modalities or areas of expertise. Using sub-specialties will ensure you are seen by the right clients.
How can I deactivate or delete my account?
We'd be sad to see you go, but if you need to deactivate or delete your account, please send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org
What if I don't have a professional headshot?
While it's always great to have a professional photo - you don't need one! Ask a friend to take a photo of you with a plain background and that beautiful smile of yours! Clients will love it!
How can I host an event or workshop?
Navigate to the "Host" tab and click the button "+" in the bottom right hand corner. From there, you can follow the prompts to fill out all of your event or workshop's information.
What is Chara's refund policy?
As long as the client cancels more than 24 hours in advance of the session, they will be refunded the full cost of the session, less the 3% processing fee. If the client cancels within 24 hours of the session, the cost is not refundable.
Do I get paid directly to my bank account?
Yes! Once you’ve connected your bank with Stripe and completed a session, you will be paid directly to your bank account.
Can clients see my personal information?
Your privacy is extremely important to us! The only information ever shared with clients is the information you list on your profile. That's it.
How do I add a service type?
Once logged in, navigate to the profile tab, labeled 'Me'. From there, click 'My Services'. You can see a list of the services you provide and also a button that says 'Add Service'. From there, you will be prompted to fill out a few fields to create your service.

We have over 40 categories of providers in our app and are continually adding more! We want to make all care types as accessible as possible, regardless of how popular or mainstream they are. We believe the right care is available for you and we can’t wait to introduce you to it!
Who is the team behind Chara?
Chara's team is made up of both providers and clients of holistic health. On the provider side, we wanted to bring our services online and find clients in need. On the client side, we had come to holistic health after feeling like modern medicine was not treating our problems, rather our symptoms. We thought holistic health should be more widespread and accessible. We put our brains together and came up with Chara - a platform bringing together ancient health philosophy and new age technology - to make holistic health & wellness more accessible.

I don't see the type of provider I am looking for.
We're always looking to expand our network of providers. As a growing community, we recognize we might not have all the types of providers out there. Send us a note email@example.com and we will be sure to help you find what you are looking for.
How do I find a provider?
After sign-in, you will be brought to the tab 'Get Care'. From here, you can browse all of Chara's providers. You can narrow your search by provider type, session type (in-person or virtual), cost and location. If you can't find what you're looking for, we'd be happy to help you out. How do I book an appointment with a provider?
Once you've found a provider you'd like to book a session with, click the 'Book' button next to the session type you like. This will allow you to set a preferred time and a note for why you'd like to see them. There is no charge for submitting a booking request. You can now send a conversation to your provider to ask any questions you'd like. As soon as your provider approves the session time, you will be prompted to pay for your session. We don't currently offer instant bookings, but we will be rolling that out soon!
What should I include in my booking request?
When submitting your booking request, feel free to be as brief or detailed as you'd like. The more information you provide to the provider, the better they'll be prepared ahead of your session. We recommend include any present symptoms, care history and remedies you've tried so far.
How do I check the status of a session?
When signed-in, navigate to the Profile tab, labeled 'Me'. Click on 'My Sessions'. This will give you a list of all your sessions: pending, booked, rescheduled and cancelled.
What is the cancellation policy?
As long as you cancel more than 24 hours in advance of the session, you will be refunded the full cost of the session, less the 3% credit card processing fee. If you cancel within 24 hours of the session, the cost is not refundable.
How do I reschedule or cancel a session?
When signed-in, navigate to the profile tab, lableled 'Me'. From there, click 'My Sessions'. Then, click on the session that you'd like to update. You'll have the option to reschedule or cancel your session from there.
Can I pay in cash or off the platform?
Never make payments for Chara sessions off of the platform. All payments are made online at the time the booking request is approved. If a practitioner solicits money off of the platform, please let us know by emailing email@example.com
How do I pay for my session?
After your booking request is approved, you will be prompted to pay for your session in the app, via credit card. We have partnered with Stripe to ensure all payments are secure.
Why should I pay via Chara?
When you pay and speak to providers through Chara, you are protected under our Terms of Service, Cancellation and refund policies, and other safeguards. Chara makes it easy to find and reference information about your upcoming session including your providers information, your session timing and information. If you book and pay outside of Chara, we can’t provide these benefits.
How can I contact a provider?
Once on the page for a provider, you can send them a private, secured message via Chara's app. We don't list or give out provider's personal contact information to protect them and you. If you have trouble reaching a provider, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
How do I join a virtual session?
At the time of your session, navigate to the profile tab, labeled 'Me'. From there, click on 'My Sessions' and navigate to the session. Once you've clicked on the session, you'll see a button that says 'Join Session'. Click that button and you'll be routed to your session. Enjoy!
Is my information secure on Chara?
All sensitive data, including files, are served to and from your browser under SSL and are stored encrypted at rest in our databases and servers. Our databases are backed up daily and are fully restorable within minutes in the event of any unintentional data loss. Chara never receives your credit card or bank account information, it is all encrypted and secured through Stripe. The data center where Chara is hosted is amongst the most secure you’ll find. In terms of compliance, it has been designed and managed in alignment with regulations, standards, and best-practices including HIPPA, DIACAP and FISMA.
